About
The Sinclair Practice
The Sinclair Practice provides a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their emotional and relational difficulties. A psychodynamic approach emphasises understanding your emotional experiences and fostering a strong therapeutic relationship.
Psychodynamic Counselling
Psychodynamic counselling is based on the understanding that some emotional difficulties cannot be fully understood at the surface level alone. We all develop ways of relating, coping, and protecting ourselves emotionally. Sometimes these patterns are helpful, sometimes they can begin to feel limiting, repetitive, or difficult to change.
Psychodynamic counselling offers an opportunity to become more aware of these patterns and the meanings connected to them. The work is collaborative, with attention paid not only to what is happening in your life now, but also to how earlier experiences and relationships may continue to shape emotional experience in the present.
Ann Mahdavi (MBCAP)
As a psychodynamic counsellor, my approach is thoughtful, containing, and grounded in the belief that lasting psychological change often comes through developing a deeper understanding of ourselves and our emotional lives.
I aim to provide a calm and professional therapeutic space where people can speak openly and think carefully about experiences that may feel difficult to understand alone. I work in a way that values reflection, emotional depth, and the therapeutic relationship itself.
I fully insured and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
